The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado - a beautiful, no-nonsense modern truck
The modern pickup truck is miles ahead of what trucks looked like only a few years ago. Better looking than ever, more powerful and more efficient, they're also incredibly comfortable and loaded with the latest tech.
One of the best mid-sized trucks around is the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, a modern truck that sports a timeless look and feel.
Here at Northwest Hills Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac in Torrington, CT , we've been selling Chevrolet trucks for decades, and by now, we know a winner when we see one. The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado was built for success and from the moment we got it in our showroom, we knew it would go down well with prospective truck buyers.
What makes it such a great choice?
It looks amazing, it drives incredible, and the inside is so comfortable it rivals any crossover on the market,
The Colorado has a sporty demeanor that comes from the high grille that narrows as it goes down the front of the car. The effect makes the Colorado look nimble and ready to take on anything you throw at it.
But what's a truck without a solid engine?
Future owners can choose between three powertrains. The base engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that will deliver 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. It's designed for fleet purchases and most retail buyers will probably stay clear of it.
The most popular choice is the 3.6-liter V-6 that can produce 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. That is enough for the Colorado to be able to tow upwards of 7,000 pounds, which is plenty for a mid-sized truck.
There is also a third option available, a 2.8-liter turbodiesel that can belt out 186 horsepower and an impressive 369 pound-feet of torque. Considering torque is what sets a truck's towing power, there's no wonder the turbodiesel is capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds.
Probably the biggest difference between a modern truck and an old-school one, though, is on the interior.
As soon as you step inside the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado you're greeted by two very comfortable front bucket seats and a 7.0-inch color touch that dominates the dashboard.
There's also air conditioning, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a USB port, and a 4-way power-adjustable driver's seat. All standard features, equipped even on fleet-focused basic models.
The Base Colorado also comes with the TeenDriver technology pack, the StabiliTrak electronic stability system, daytime running lamps, and a CornerStep rear bumper.
Most buyers will probably opt for the LT trim, though. That's the thing with the Colorado. Between 5 different trims to choose from, 3 engine options, and 3 body configurations, there's a perfect rendition for everyone.
But back to the LT trim and why we think this is the go-to choice for most buyers. For starters, it bumps the color touch to 8.0-inches, it adds a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, the SiriusXM satellite radio, a 6-way power driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an HD rear vision camera, remote locking tailgate, and remote keyless entry.
That's a list many crossover SUVs can't put forward and this is a truck we're talking about.
