The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer, a nameplate reinvented
It used to be that the Blazer nameplate was synonymous with Chevrolet truck excellence, but not anymore. Nowadays, the Blazer stands for crossover luxury and overdelivering at every turn as the nameplate has been completely reinvented by the manufacturer and blossomed into a five-seat crossover SUV.
With blacked-out pillars that make the roof seem to float and a Camaro-like rear end, the 2021 Blazer is one attractive SUV that will turn heads everywhere you decide to drive it.
The exterior sex appeal continues inside with a wonderful dashboard that’s dominated by a responsive 8.0-inch color touch. Flanked on both sides by levees of buttons, the touch is used to control the Blazer’s infotainment system.
All Blazer passengers enjoy loads of legroom and comfortable seating, making it a great car for both short in-city drives or long commutes. Passenger comfort doesn’t come at the expense of cargo room as future Blazer owners can depend on a generous 30.5 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row and a whopping 64.2 behind the first. That’s more than enough for serious trips to Home Depot or Ikea.
Under the hood, the Blazer comes with one in three options. It’s either the base 2.5-liter inline LCV engine that will give you 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, the 2.0-liter turbo-4 LSY that can belt out 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the top of the range 3.6-liter V-6 that will churn out a whopping 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
Properly equipped, the V-6 can tow up to 4,500 pounds, making the Blazer suited even for camper towing.
There’s also plenty of tech for the cost of a standard 2-21 Blazer, with features such as keyless start, 4 USB ports, Bluetooth audio streaming, an 8.0-inch color touch, and Apple CarPlay plus Android Auto connectivity.
At under $30,000, the Chevrolet Blazer delivers way above its price tag and offers a luxury ride on higher trims.
