Quite possibly one of the best-looking crossovers on the market, the Blazer doesn’t attract through looks alone. It’s fun to drive and it can be customized to fit any budget and every need.
Three engine choices
Before we delve into Blazer’s trim levels, let’s first look at engine choices.
The standard powertrain is a tried-and-true 2.5-liter inline-4 that will produce 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. One step up is the 2.0-liter turbodiesel that will bump up the p[ower to 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both 4-cylinder engines are coupled with a responsive 9-speed automatic.
The top of the range is a 3.6-liter V-6 that can churn out 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, and it comes standard with the RS and Premier trims. Speaking of which... let’s get to the Blazer’s trim levels.
Blazer L – Blazer's base model
It’s equipped with the 2.5-liter powertrain and also comes with features such as a dual-outlet exhaust with circular bright tips, 18-inch Bright Silver aluminum wheels, heated power outside mirrors, high-intensity discharge lamps, and LED daytime running lights.
On the inside, the list of standard features grows even bigger with a 4.2-inch color driver information center, a six-manual driver’s seat, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, four USB ports, Bluetooth audio streaming, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay capability, dual-zone automatic climate control, an HD rear vision camera, keyless open and start, plus a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
A step up is the Blazer 1LT that includes everything under the previous trim plus SiriusXM satellite radio, deep-tinted glass, and an eight-way power driver’s seat.
The Blazer 2LT is identical to the 1LT trim but it comes with the middle engine, the 2.0-liter turbodiesel, as standard.
Everything under the 2LT to which some perks are added – black roof-mounted side rails, heated power auto-dimming outside mirrors, a six-way power front passenger seat, heated front seats, remote start, universal home remote, perforated leather-trimmed seats, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert plus Rear Park Assist.
The first opt of the top two trim levels, the RS includes everything the 3LT trim carries to which it adds 20-inch Dark Android machined-face aluminum wheels, a hands-free gesture liftgate, an 8.0-inch color driver information center, ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel, built-in navigation, and it bumps the engine to the 3.6-liter V-6.
Blazer's top trim is down-right luxurious, with everything under the RS, including the 3.6-liter top engine plus silver roof-mounted side rails, a premium eight-speaker Bose sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, rear heated seats, and memory settings.
