GMC Sierra HD 2021 – when the best gets even better
This year, GMC introduced what many believe to be the best heavy-duty truck on the market, the brand-new, completely redesigned GMC Sierra HD.
For next year, they took the brand-new model and made it even better.
What puts the GMC Sierra HD at the top of the food chain in its class?
Exceptional engines plus crossover-comparable comfort and features.
The GMC Sierra comes with two engine choices, both far more capable than we could have imagined.
The standard powertrain is a massive 6.6-liter V-8 that will belt out 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The available upgrade is where things get serious, though. Standing at 445 horsepower, the Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel can produce a whopping 901 pound-feet of torque, enough to give the Sierra HD the ability to tow up to 35,500 pounds. And if that’s not impressive, nothing is. More than three times the ability of regular trucks, the Sierra HD can get done some of the most impossible-looking tasks out there.
Inside, the feast continues with an avalanche of features that place the 2021 Sierra HD closer to luxury crossovers than regular pickup trucks. With next year’s rendition of the model, future owners get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth audio streaming, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, built-in navigation, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, keyless open and start, remote start, and even a heated steering wheel.
There are also class-leading or class-only features such as class-leading available 15 camera views, world’s first six-function MultiPro tailgate, best-in-class HD cargo bed volume, best-in-class front head and legroom, plus the first HD in its class with available Allison 10-speed transmission and a head-up display.
On top of these, the 2021 rendition adds optional E85 FlexFuel capability for the 6.6-liter V-8 engine, make the GMC MultiPro tailgate a standard feature on the SLE which is the first trim above the base model, plus brings a new inside rearview auto-dimming mirror with a partial video display.
The 2020 GMC Sierra HD is a newly-built beast that’s been recreated with customer feedback in mind. Work-oriented, bigger, and stronger than ever before, for the 2021 model year it needed just a few minor upgrades for the 2021 model year.
Already a champion in engine power, comfort, tech, towing ability, interior comfort, and exterior design, the 2020 GMC Sierra HD is a dream truck all prospective buyers would love to own.
