Safety and connectivity features on the 2021 GMC Yukon
Bigger and better than ever before, the 2021 GMC Yukon is poised to win over many prospective buyers when it hits the market later this year.
In this article, we'll look over its many connectivity and safety features but before we get into that, let's swiftly take a look at what you can expect from your 2021 Yukon.
First of all, more space. Its enlarged dimensions make for tons of interior space. That means adults will sit comfortably even on the third row and with the second and third row folded, you'll get a whopping 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space at your disposal.
Under the hood, the standard engine is a massive 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. That’s plenty of power but for those in need of more, GMC makes two upgrades available – the Denali-exclusive 6.2-liter V8 that will churn out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, plus the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque that will be introduced later next year.
In terms of safety, the 2021 rendition of the Yukon is yet to be rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but if previous models are anything to go by, the Yukon will ace all crash tests.
It comes with standard Automated Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning and has a suite of advanced safety features available on higher trims. Features such as Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, or the Lane-Departure Warning and Lane-Keep Assist.
All Yukons will be equipped with a massive 10.2 color touch that will feature GMC’s latest infotainment system, the highly responsive IntelliLink interface. They’ll also have standard Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth audio streaming.
