CHEVROLET SILVERADO ENGINE OPTIONS FOR TRUCK SHOPPERS NEAR WATERBURY CONNECTICUT

Truly wonderful things come from great things that somehow managed to get even better.
That's precisely the story with Chevrolet's Silverado 1500.
The second-best sold vehicle in the US, regardless of class or price tag, and probably the best pickup truck out there, the Silverado 1500 just got even better in anticipation of 2020.
What got better? Well, for the new season, Chevrolet added more options. A whole lot of more options, as now you'll be able to choose between no fewer than eight trim levels and an impressive six powertrains.
Chevrolet seems to have embarked on a journey to build a perfect pickup truck for everyone, regardless of how niched their needs might be. You can combine the latest tech features with the most luxurious options, and still opt for a fuel-friendly diesel engine - the industry's best, actually.
It would take a whole book to go through all the available trim levels and extra options. For that it's best you pay us a visit here at ... in ... where our dedicated sales team can walk you through all the available options.
Let's better focus on the six available powertrains you can fit your Silverado 1500 with.
The base engine is a reliable 4.3-liter V6 that, coupled with a 6-speed automatic, will create 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. Not a monster by any means, but this option is destined for fleet purchases or consumers that don't really need the full might of a pickup truck.
A step above, and with more or less the same target in mind, is an impressive 2.7-liter turbo-4. What would have been considered as blasphemous only a few years back, a 4 cylinder engine on a pickup truck, is now a very sought-after option. Chevrolet paired it with a responsive 8-speed automatic, and you can expect 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque from it. Impressive though are the combined 20 miles per gallon it delivers with four-wheel drive, making it ideal for commuters.
The industry's top diesel engine comes next in the form of a 3.0-liter turbodiesel-6. It will produce 277 horsepower and a whopping 460 pound-feet of torque. Looking at its fuel economy figures, though, is where the jaws start dropping. 25 combined miles per gallon with all-wheel drive and 33 with rear-drive, numbers most crossovers can't match, let alone pickup trucks. An engine fit for the new needs of the 21st century when environmental mindfulness is firmly part of the mainstream.
For those in need of power, Chevrolet offers two mighty V8s. The smaller one, if you can call it that, is the 5.3-liter V8 that will churn out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. That's plenty to get any job done. It comes equipped with either a 6-speed, an 8-, or a 10-speed automatic. The 6-speed automatic is equipped with the Active Fuel Management system that can shut down four cylinders under light load conditions, while the 8-speed and 10-speed can shut down one to six cylinders.
The tip of the spear of the Silverado 1500 engine lineup is the 6.2-liter V8 that will produce 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, enough to tow upwards of 13.400 pounds. In fewer words, a monster!
