CHEVROLET SILVERADO HD TRUCKS

The modern pickup truck is a beast to behold. A far cry from its originally purely utilitarian nature, the truck of 2020 is closer to the luxury provided by crossover SUVs than ever before. Drive to the job site or drive it to the office, you're sure to impress your peers only if you're but choose the right brand and trim level.

Chevrolet, through its Silverado line, has long been heralded as one of the best truck manufacturers on the market, a statement proved by the fact that the Silverado was among the top three best selling vehicles in the US for three years straight, regardless of class or price range.

The Silverado HD class, through the 2500 and 3500 models, is the epitome of what modern tech and thinking can accomplish. Pickup trucks like never before in terms of spectacular looks, incredible power, and unprecedented interior comfort and luxury.

Let's look at the model's five trim levels in detail in order to understand how Chevrolet managed to cover the full spectrum of its client's base needs. From spartan workhorse to crossover-comparable luxury and comfort, you'll find them all under one roof - Silverado's.

Before anything else though, a truck, especially from the Heavy Duty lineup, needs to be able to get the job done, and between the gas engine and the massive Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel that can belt out 440 horsepower and a whopping 910 pound-feet of torque, it's safe to say the Silverado's got your back no matter what the task at hand is.

Rear-wheel drive is standard across the board, and all-wheel capability always an available option. The only exception to the rule is the top trim, named High Country, where AWD comes standard. Speaking of which, the Silverado HD offers no less than five different trim levels, as follows Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country.

The base trim is quite exactly what it says it is... a vehicle that will get the job done and little else. With that in mind you'd expect a barren list of features, and starting out, that's what you find in the manual locks and windows or vinyl floor covers, but fortunately, things don't stop there, as even the simplest Silverado HD will come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and the highly useful Teen Driver pack. It will allow owners to set the maximum speed and radio volume their truck can reach when it's in other hands than their own.

The following package is dubbed Custom and adds cruise control, remote keyless entry, and carpet floor covering to what Work Truck already brought to the table.

The LT sits squarely in the middle. Not a luxury pack yet, but most definitely far from your run of the mill pickup truck of the last decade. It comes with the addition of 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and the OnStar & Chevrolet Connected Services capability, a bigger 8.0-inch touch, and dual-zone automatic climate.

The LTZ already breaks luxury ground as it comes with perks like SiriusXM and HD radio, the EZ lift tailgate with power lock and release, keyless open and start, power-folding and -extending heated trailer mirrors, heated front seats and steering wheel, plus leather upholstery.

High Country is at the top of the pile and reading its list of features without knowing we're talking pickup trucks here, you'd surely be led to think it's of an upscale crossover model. Four-wheel drive, a state-of-the-art BOSE sound system, navigation, ventilated front bucket seats, rear heated seats, wireless charging capability and a great selection of advanced safety features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, or the Front and Rear Park Assist, to name but a few.
