AVAILABLE BUICK REGAL TRIM LEVELS
The Buick Regal is a car with multiple personalities.
Three to be exact.
It's got the TourX, its family-oriented side, the Sportback, its smart casual side, and the GS, its wild, untamed side.
Between the three renditions, there are two engine options and five trim levels to choose from. It can be intimidating at first to figure out which one's the best to meet your needs. But with a little bit of help from us here at Northwest Hills Chevrolet Buick GMC, your go-to source of information for everything Buick, the decision will be quite simple. Before we dive in and explain the different trim levels, let's settle the score regarding engine options.
Apart from the GS model, all Buick Regals tap the same tried-and-true 2.0-liter turbo-4 powertrain. It produces 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, impressive figures for a sedan. The GS comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 that will belt out 310 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque. It's meant to be sporty and it delivers!
Now for the trims, all you have to keep in mind is that the TourX goes as high as the Essence trim, while the Sportback has an extra one, dubbed the Avenir. And that's it.
Let's take them one by one.
Regal Base - better than most
The basic model is anything but as Buick bestowed it with an incredibly long list of standard features.
- Keyless start
- Keyless open
- StabiliTrak stability enhancement system
- 7.0-inch color touchscreen
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration
- Heated mirrors
- Rearview camera
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Dual-zone climate control
- 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability
- USB port Â
That's the sort of equipment you get from mid-range trims on most competitors' sedans. Buick just calls it "basic".
Onwards!
Regal Preferred - what most buyers go for
One step above the Base level is the Preferred.
It adds three luxury features and makes the Preferred Driver Confidence package available.
Preferred includes all Base features and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and a superb eight-way power driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support.
The Driver Confidence pack significantly enhances driving safety as it includes the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert plus the Lane Change Alert and Blind Spot Alert systems, LED headlights, and rear park assist.
Regal Essence - knocking on luxury's door
This is where the TourX stops, so Buick decided to give this medium-level trim an upscale look and feel.
It did that by including all the features listed under the Preferred trim level, to which it added:
- Leather-appointed front and rear seats
- Heated front seats
- Heated steering wheel
- Remote start
- Multi-color driver information screen
- Moon white ambient lighting Â
A TourX Essence looks top shelf, and it feels top-shelf. Small details like the moon-white ambient lighting and the multi-color driver information screen give the model a touch of class all passengers will instantly pick up on.
Regal Avenir - top fell for a top trim
The Regal Avenir is the model's most luxurious trim level. It lavishes future owners with a huge list of features that increase both exterior looks and interior comforts.
Avenir delivers everything the Essence trim has to offer plus:
- A mesh grille with Black Ice Finish
- Quilt-Stitched Leather-Appointed Seats
- 19-inch aluminum wheels
- A BOSE premium audio system
- An 8.0-inch touch
- Navigation
- 2 extra rear USB ports
- HD radio
- Wireless smartphone charging
- Adaptive headlights
- The entire Driver Confidence Package as standard
Regal Avenir talks the talk and definitely walks the walk. There's little else you can equip the car with, and all the few optional features that remain have to do with extra-luxury.
Regal GS - the family's bad boy
The Regal GS is basically a Regal Sportback Avenir on steroids. You get the exact same car with the same features but tuned to deliver a sporty driving experience.
The Regal GS is the only model that has the V-6 engine and it includes boosts the likes of All-Wheel Drive, an adaptive sport-tuned suspension, Brembo sports brakes, a sportier styling plus extra-comfortable heated and ventilated front seats.
It's our view here at Northwest Hills Chevrolet Buick GMC inn Torrington that you can't go wrong with any Regal trim. The Base car is exceptional, it's just a matter of finding the rendition that hits the sweet spot for your wants and needs.
