The Chevrolet Colorado vs Toyota Tacoma
When it comes to picking a high quality truck, the options on the market can make choosing a touch more difficult. Two popular models on the market at the moment are the Chevrolet Colorado, and the Toyota Tacoma. While both are high quality vehicles, there's a clear difference in performance that, for some, should make deciding on your ideal vehicle a little easier.
For one, the Chevrolet Colorado outstrips the Tacoma in terms of price. You'll be saving around (at least) $800 on comparable models, which might not sound like a great deal but, as every bargain hunter knows, value counts in the long run. For the price differential, though, you would expect the vehicles to be more or less neck and neck in terms of performance and capability.
WHAT MATTERS MOST
In terms of overall performance, though, the Chevrolet Colorado wins hands down. The engine is smooth and powerful when in use, while some find the Tacoma to be a little less comfortable to ride within. Add in the whopping towing capacity, too, and it's easy to see why most people like to stick with the Colorado. It's got much improved towing capacity and riding comfort, but it's also very spacious inside.
While the Tacoma can feel a little downscaled inside the truck, and everything feels a touch generic, the Chevrolet Colorado has no such problems. The interior is smooth and stylish, giving you ample space to stretch out and feel comfortable when driving.
Add in the fact it's giving you an extra 1/2mpg depending on where you are driving, and the Chevrolet Colorado wins against the Toyota Tacoma in most of the factors that matters for a truck. There's greater customization available, too: you can add in a bed liner as an optional add-on alongside a pick-up bed Tonneau cover and running boards. While the Tacoma allows the latter two, you can't add a bed liner.
LITTLE THINGS MATTER
It's the little things that make the Chevrolet Colorado win this argument. It's got far more diversity inside, too; from front reading lamps to remote engine start-up as well as Telematics navigation assistance, it's powered with far more useful features than the Tacoma.
For the taller people out there, too, the Colorado wins. It's got space for four passengers, with a good 2" of head room and leg room provided for those sitting at the front. If you're a tall driver and want to avoid feeling cramped or forced into a position, this is a pretty decent place to start.
Add in the act it can have a high quality premium sound system added in and it comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot installed, this is the perfect vehicle for the modern truck driver. Best of all, it comes with a reliable climate control option so if you are looking for something a little more 'green' than the original, this makes a fine place to start.
From leather seats to power driver seats and passenger seats, the Chevrolet Colorado does all it can to make it the right choice for drivers who care about precision. If you've been on the fence on either the Tacoma or the Colorado, we can only recommend the latter.
